Gunmen who beheaded Imo LGA chairman say there won’t be election in southeast

Gunmen who on Sunday beheaded the Sole Administrator of the Ideato North Local Government Area of Imo State, Chris Ohizu, insisted that elections won’t hold in South East.

The gunmen in a video they circulated while beheading Ohizu, in a forest said that they were disenchanted with the development of things in the country.

They said that they were beheading the abducted council chairman to use to pass a message to other politicians who were benefiting from the abnormalities going in the country.

According to them, they do not belong to the Indigenous People of Biafra but are a separate group championing for a better welfare for their people.

The council boss who was beheaded on Sunday was kidnapped on Friday alongside two others after his country home at Imoko community in the Arondizuogu area of the LGA was razed.

The slain LGA boss who was shot before being whisked away by his abductors was appointed in the last quarter of 2022.

Okeomanews gathered that his abductors collected N6m ransom and still beheaded him.
