The Imo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party has appointed a young writer, Lancelot Obiaku, the Director General of the New Media directorate of the party in the state.
Obiaku’s new role was announced in a letter of appointment issued by the chairman of the party in the state, Charles Ugwu.
While accepting the appointment, Obiaku, who hails from the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of the state, promised to bring his experience to bear in his new assignment.
His statement of acceptance read “as a firm believer in good governance and true democracy, I have always been instinctively attracted to activities that promote these values.
“It is on this premise that I welcome and accept my appointment as Director-General of the New Media Directorate of the Imo State of the Peoples Democratic Party.
“I thank the leadership of the party in the State led by Chief Charles Ugwu for finding me capable of handling this sensitive role at this time.
“My time, energy, and professional experience shall be committed to promoting the party’s ever-present good messages and contributing to a formidable opposition.
“Imo PDP as presently constituted means well for Imo State and hopefully, we will not relent until we get it right at all levels, top of which is to rebuild our dear State.”
