Imo command begins manhunt for killers of police officer

The Imo State command has said that it had begun a manhunt for the killers of a mobile officer who was on a special duty in the state.

Gunmen had on Friday night attacked the Oguta police divisional headquarters.

In the attack, the invaders killed a visiting mobile police officer and razed the police facility.

The policemen on duty engaged the non state actors who reportedly escaped with bullet wounds.

Reacting to an enquiry from OkeomaNews, the spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye, said that the command had began a manhunt for the killers of the cop.

The police spokesperson said “Our operatives in the early hours of today engage some gunmen who attacked Oguta Divisional Headquarters.

The gunmen flee the scene due to superior fire power from the Police. Unfortunately one of our personnel whose identity wouldn’t be disclosed for security reasons paid the supreme price.

Security operations is still ongoing in the area, further details will be communicated to the public.
