Onyekanma has not withdrawn from Imo Assembly Election

Imo State House of Assembly

Office of Member Representing Mbaitoli State Constituency

Press Release

Onyekanma has not withdrawn from Imo state House of Assembly Election Context.

Our attention has been drawn to a fake news circulating online, insinuating that Rt. Hon. Okey Onyekanma, the PDP candidate for Imo state House of Assembly, Mbaitoli state constituency, has withdrawn from the context, to support Innocent Ikpamezie – the APC candidate, after collecting the sum of 60 million naira.

We want to make it abundantly clear that Rt. Hon. Okey Onyekanma has neither withdrawn from the context nor collected the sum of 60 million naira from Innocent Ikpamezie. Onyekanma is strongly pursuing his election and certain of victory at the polls.

By peddling fake news that Onyekanma has withdrawn from the race to support an unpopular candidate – Innocent Ikpamezie, in order to lead Mbaitoli electorates into error, the All Progressives Congress has tacitly admitted defeat in the March 18th House of Assembly election in Mbaitoli state constituency.

The news is fake and we urge the general public to treat it as such.
