All eyes on Athan Achonu as Obi arrives Imo today

by OkeomaNews

The peoples president, Mr Peter Obi will be in Owerri, Imo State, today to raise the hands of the next governor of the state, Senator Athan Achonu. Achonu is the governorship candidate of the Labour Party for the November 11 governorship election in the state.

Obi’s mission and visit to the state are very simple. To tell the people of the state that the right and the cable man to lead the state from January next year is Achonu.

At the Kanu Nwankwo’s sports stadium in Owerri, with millions of people, the hero of the 2023 presidential election in company of the governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, the national chairman of the party, Julius Abure and the other big wigs of the party will introduce Achonu as the incoming governor of the state.

This is not because Achonu is the governorship candidate of the Labour Party but because Achonu and the LP have the clearest chance of rescuing the state from its current pitiable state.

Achonu’s antecedents, programmes and manifesto are sure bets for the state’s survival.

Among the 17 governorship candidates, Achonu has the best plans to rescuing and rebuilding the state.

Achonu, a former senator of the Federal Republic and a serial entrepreneur and regular human capacity developer understands the current challenges bedevilling the state.

Achonu’s programmes in the ease of doing business, plans on the Internally generated revenue, ending housing deficits and perennial infrastructural decays and health sector abandonment are commendable.

Achonu understands that without proper programmes on agriculture, education, technical skills, tourism and entertainments, investments, capacity building and infrastructural lifting, the state won’t make any headways.

The persistent insecurity difficulties affecting the state are of utmost concerns to Achonu.

He understands that without security, the economy will crash and that is why he had put security as the topmost priority as he vies for the state’s number one position.

By the grace of God if Achonu wins, his first intent would be to ensure that all parts of the state are properly and adequately secured.

In doing that, Achonu understands that massive employment opportunities are key. That is why he had significantly chosen to empower millions of the people of the state through, agriculture, entertainment and skill acquisitions.

The incoming governor of the state believes that one of the surest ways of permanently tackling insecurity is building the economy. In building the economy, Achonu understands that human capacity development is sacrosanct.

According to him, intentionally and genuinely empowering, equipping and engaging the young minds which constitute the 68 percent of our population is the surest strategy.

In agriculture, the Governorship is of the view that the state can ensure food sufficiency for itself.

Achonu is not a theoretical person but a strong mind who believes in realities.

For example, Achonu’s Numo farms morden agricultural farmland in Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state (Artificial River with capacity of one million Fish per month; Morden Hatchery; Snailery; Green Houses; Laboratory; etc) now sorrounded by scenic landscape is a beauty to behold.

He created and tarred 3km access road with two bridges and double sided drainages. With professional inputs from his engineers he designed and created Numo Farm from scratch- a sprawling massive agricultural/tourism business with huge capacity to employ 2000 youths.

So as Obi arrives Owerri, the state Capital today, he is not just coming to raise the hands of his Party man but coming to endorse the Governorship candidate who is the best among all.

This is so because Imo will breathe fresh air and join other elite state in ensuring that the dividends of democracy are delivered to the people of the state should Achonu of the Labour Party emerges the next governor of the state in November.

Welcome to Imo State, the people choice.

Nnoor nwokeoma

Imo will be well again.
