We have treated 103, 091  people in our health insurance scheme, says Imo govt

The Imo State Government has revealed that it had treated 103, 091 people in its health insurance programme in the state.

The Executive Secretary of Imo State Health Insurance Agency, Dr Uche Ewelike, who spoke to journalists in Owerri, the state capital said that out of the number of people treated, 518 patients were normal deliveries and 219 were surgeries.

Ewelike said that the intent was to ensure many people from the state and living the state had access to quality healthcare services.

He said “Governor Hope Uzodimma’s Health Insurance Programme has treated 103,091 people for free in six months.

“518 free normal deliveries and 

219 surgeries all free. 

“With this, the Imo State Governor Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma has successfully reduced maternal and child mortality to almost 0% in the last six months of implementation as few deaths recorded were due to old age. 

“This commendable feat is part of the global trajectory on the attainment of sustainable development goal three in Imo State by the Uzodimma’s administration.”
