Breaking: Uche Ogbuagu leads as candidates protest

Uche Ogbuagu of the Labour Party is at the verge of being declared the winner of the house of representatives election in Mbaitoli/ Ikeduru federal constituency of Imo State held last on Saturday.

Ogbuagu got 6,052 votes while Akarachi Amadi of the All Progressives Congress polled 5,077 votes to come second.

The incumbent, Henry Nwawuba, of the All Progressives Grand Alliance got 4,275, votes while Chinonso Uba of the African Democratic Congress scored 3,680 votes.

Osmond Ukanacho trail at distant fifth position with 2, 581 votes.

The other contestants are currently protesting the result at the office of the Independent National Electoral commission in Owerri.

They alleged that elections didn’t take place at Amaike ward in Mbaitoli LGA.

They also claimed elections only took place in 14 booths out of the the 26 booths in Ogbaku ward in the Mbaitoli LGA.

The protesting candidates also claimed that elections didn’t hold in Ogwa ward 11 in the Mbaitoli LGA.
