LABOUR PARTY VOLUNTEER FORCE*

12th April,2023.*

*To Whom It May Concern*

*THE DANGER OF CONDUCTING IMO DELEGATES AND GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY ELECTIONS WITH A PSEUDO COMMITTEE IN DISREGARD OF COURT ORDER*

We are members of Labour Party Volunteer Force (LPVF) Imo state Chapter. Our objects include among others, ensuring the  victory of the Labour Party in Imo state during the   Governorship election  scheduled for November 11,  2023. We are not unaware of the plot by some desperate politicians to destabilise the Labour Party and cause it to take the wrong and illegal approach in the course of producing its Guber  candidate. In view  of the foregoing,  we hereby advise as follows:-

1) The leadership of the Party should  respect the ruling of the Owerri High Court in  the Suit No:HOW/219/2023 which recognised the rights of the recently appointed  Caretaker Committee of the Party led by Onyekwulisi FBI which ordered for the maintenance of Status Quo pending the determination of the suit.

2) The leadership of the Party should realise that it is an exercise in futility trying to carry out any of the specific functions of the said Committee  using another Committee even while the present Caretaker Committee is still in court defending their appointment.

3) The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will not in the face of the Order of court for maintenance of Status Quo give recognition to any thing done, being done or proposed to be done by any other  Committee appointed after the commencement of the said suit which touches on the functions of the present Caretaker Committee.

A proper appreciation of these issues will save the Party from running into murky waters and giving its opposition the opportunity to have another suffocating grip on the people of Imo state.

Please,  be cautious.
