Ex Imo deputy gov for burial today

A former deputy governor of Imo State, Ebere Udeagu, will be buried today, January 28.

Udeagu who deputized a former governor of the state, Achike Udenwa, between 1999 and 2007 would be lowered in a grave at his country home in his Ihube community in the Okigwe Local Government Area of the state.

Top government officials and captains of industry would be on ground to bid goodbye to the engineer turned turned politician, OkeomaNews gathered.

Udeagu died in the early hours of Monday, October 7, 2022, in Owerri, after he complained of illness and could not attend a church service on Sunday.

He was rushed to a hospital where he died the next day.

Udeagu’s last public appearance was on October 1, 2022, during the 62nd Independence Day anniversary in Owerri.

The ex deputy governor was aged 79.

His funeral rites which would had taken place on January 6 were postponed to January 28 because of insecurity ravaging his hometown and parts of Okigwe LGA.
