Two governorship aspirants of Peoples Democratic Party in Imo State, Samuel Anyanwu ( Samdaddy) and Emeka Ihedioha, will on Tuesday test their political mights as the party elects three man ad-hoc delegates for the April 15 governorship primary.
The three man ad-hoc wards delegates election will see the Divine Mandate political structure of Samdaddy who is the current national secretary of the party and Rebuild Imo team of Ihedioha lock horns in the 305 wards of the state on Tuesday.
The battle is the first step towards holding the grip of the party ahead of the April 15 showdown.
The elected delegates are the ones who will elect the governorship candidate of the party on April 15 at the Kanu Nwankwo sports stadium in Owerri, the state capital, Okeomanews reports.
Sources in the party on Sunday confided in Okeomanews that the two governorship aspirants are in last minute battle to win the majority of the delegates on Tuesday.
One of the sources said ” the PDP ward delegates election is on Tuesday in Imo State. It is a battle between Samdaddy and Emeka Ihedioha. The two aspirants are putting everything they have into the election knowing fully well that any of them who has an upper hand is most likely to win the governorship ticket on April 15.
“Samdaddy and Ihedioha are currently in the state, strategizing on how to influence the outcome of the delegates election. Their political allies in various wards and Local Government Areas are currently woeing and working hard to influence the outcome of the delegates elections in their wards for their prefered governorship aspirant.”
