See what police said about shooting of Imo PDP chairman

The chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ogbaku ward in the Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State, Charles Oko, was shot in his house by a group of gunmen.

While he survived the attackers, he was immediately rushed to a hospital as one of his legs was shattered by bullet.

Responding to an inquiry, the spokesperson for the police in the state, Henry Okoye said “the Command is on top of the situation, I have interacted with the victim via phone call, he is yet to report the case at Ogbaku Divisional Headquarters. I advised him to do so to enable him obtain a medical form to proceed to hospital and treat himself. However investigation is ongoing, patrol is Intensified in Ogbakwu with the aim of nipping in the bud any untoward situation.”
