YOu goofed by stopping students from taking exams, Nonsonkwa tells polyneck rector

No Fees, No Exams policy is highly insensitive!

Nonsonkwa Replies FEPONEK Management

I read with amusement the childish, empty, shameful poorly scripted article by the Management of federal polytechnic Nekede in reaction to my Stand on the NO FEES; NO EXAMS policy of the institution.

I made my views clear and simple.

  • That the school management has no right to deny students their right to education with such policy, especially now that the economy is biting hard on the parents majority of whom are poor.

*That the school management led by a Reverend Rector should show mercy on the students and allow them take their exams.

  • That the CBT exams which usually comes during the Second semester was scheduled for first semester which is totally wrong.
  • That the school management should take into cognizance the pressure on students and parents as well and shelve this insensitive policy.
  • That No federal Higher Institution in the north can apply this kind of policy in their schools..
  • That no school can boast of complete school fees from all students no matter the pressure because some might not pay because they don’t have it.
  • That the school should actually wait for debtor students at the clearance stage.

Instead of the school management to come up with facts to why the policy of NO FEES; NO EXAMS must be applied, they went on rampage calling me a drug addict, drunken master, interloper, failed broadcaster, failed politician and other amusing but childish names.

I am not bothered in any way because those who do evil fear the truth.

I want to make it clear that my Association, a human rights group, Protect The Weak International Foundation (PROWIF) is poised to protect the weak and the poor students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede and indeed other students.

We are ready to take this matter way up by inviting EFCC to look into the revenues of FEPONEK and determine the extent of expenditures in consonance with the income both from the federal government and income internally generated, including the fees paid by evening program students of the institution.

Furthermore, the way and manner contracts were awarded in the school should be an interesting investigation by the EFCC including the acquisition of landed properties, automobiles and sophisticated assets by the top management staff.

Evidences abound.

In conclusion,it will be in the best interest of the school management to shelve the idea of No Fees; No Exams to avoid an ugly damage to the image of both the school and ofcourse the management staff.
